AfterCare Spring 2017 Term

The D-E 360° AfterCare Spring Term 2017 is in session from April 3 – June 8, 2017.

The cost for AfterCare is $40 per day/child when you register in advance. 

AfterCare Drop-In is available for $50 per day/child.

AfterCare includes the following: 

  • A healthy snack, plus supervised play.
  • Homework Club  (Grades 1-5) Daily from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
    Our very popular Homework Club is an important component of our AfterCare program and is taught by D-E Lower School faculty.
  • A variety of interesting activities for children (Preschool – Grade 5)
    AfterCare activities include: Art and Nature, Boot Camp for Fitness, Drama, Moving and Grooving, Music and Movement, Snacktivities, Sports Basics, Storybook Drama, and Zumba for Kids. See below for AfterCare activities descriptions and schedule.

AfterCare Activities Descriptions and Schedule

Art and Nature

  • Grade: Kindergarten - 1

Thematically based on the seasons of the year, young artists will get a chance to explore the outdoor beauty of the D-E campus. Students will collect items from nature to use in their creations. The campus will provide inspiration to these rising artists as they create their very own interpretations of various items which make our campus so beautiful.

Bootcamp for Fitness

  • Grade: 2 - 5

Do you love to jump rope, play relay races and run obstacle courses? Each class will include warm-ups, stretching and group fitness exercises to increase strength, agility, coordination and increase speed. Stay fit while having fun this winter.

Drama

  • Grade: Kindergarten - 1

Come explore and learn to be expressive through dramatic play. Children love to use their imaginations to act out characters in a play and collaborate to bring the story to life. Through prompts, role plays, drama games, mini-plays, and creative opportunities to improvise, students develop a sense of self and learn to trust their own dramatic instincts in this fun activity based class.

Moving and Grooving

  • Grade: Preschool 3 - Preschool 4

Children will work on their gross motor skills through fun activities like balance beam, obstacle course, and fun musical songs that require movement. Listening skills will also be sharpened as they learn to follow directions through movement activities.

Music and Movement

Sing, move, and play! What a wonderful way to end the school day. Preschool children will have the chance to explore the wonderful world of music while moving their bodies and tuning their ears in this explorative and imaginative class.

Snacktivities-Cooking in Spanish

Do you like to play in the kitchen? Learn how to follow a recipe and prepare tasty and healthy snacks, all in Spanish. Come experience the wonderful world of deliciousness while learning another language! Some of our menu items will be crepes, apple crisps, empanadas, sorbet, smoothies, and ice cream.

Sports Basics

When our students enter the magical worlds of Peter Pan, Madeline, and other favorite characters through dramatic play, they will uncover all of the wonderful elements that these stories have to offer. Students will get an in-depth understanding of character, setting, plot, and have the opportunity to explore their creative side while re-enacting each story.

Zumba for Kids
