Kon’nichiwa! Ahn nyeong ha se yo! Ni hao! Namaste! There are many ways to say “hello” when visiting any number of Asian countries. This week the blue group practiced saying this simple, but friendly greeting in a variety of ways. We also listened to nursery rhymes such as Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Row Your Boat in different languages in order to gain more exposure to the sounds of Asia. Also, we explored Asian folktales and storybooks to help provide a view about what life is like on the other side of the world. We closed out our week by dictating individual stories set in Asia and making mandalas which represent our hopes for peace and unity in the world. Now, grab your passports … Europe, here we come!
