D-E 360° Summer Connections 2021

Serving Students in Preschool – Grade 12

In-Person on the Campus of Dwight-Englewood School July 6 to August 13, 2021

Dear Families,

Welcome! Count on us for a summer of BOLD learning with our D-E 360° Summer Connections programs scheduled to run from July 6 through August 13. Understanding fully the needs of young people from both social-emotional and academic perspectives, we’re offering in-person programs for learners at all ages for six weeks this summer. Participants may join us for two, four, or all six weeks.

We have a range of experiences planned that include art and design, theater, music and movement, environmental conservation and STEM leadership, academic and life skills building as well as more traditional “camp” programs.

After a summer of virtual programs in 2020, we are excited to welcome back faculty, staff and trusted partners to join us IN PERSON on campus for Summer Connections 2021.

Examples of programs we’re planning will fall under the following categories:


Summer Academics for Students in Grades 5+Middle School Academic Enrichment, Academic Prep for Rising 9th and 10th Graders & High School Elective Courses for Credit

  • High School Elective Courses for Credit (math and lab sciences) through our Scholars Program (Five weeks: July 6 – August 6)
    • Advancement Algebra 1
    • Advancement Algebra 2
    • Advancement Biology
    • Advancement Chemistry
    • Advancement Computer Programming
    • Advancement Geometry
    • Advancement Physics
    • Advancement Pre-Calculus
  • Middle School Academic Enrichment (coding, math, writing and literary skills ) through our New! Junior Scholars Camp (Five weeks: July 6 – August 6)
    • Adventures in Math
    • Creative Writing
    • Literary Skills Seminar
    • Coding with Vineyard App Camp


Summer Immersives for Students in Grades 5+: Art and Design; STEM Leadership & Environmental Conservation; and Theater, Movement and Music

  • Specialized Immersives and Master Classes (Grades 5-8)
  • Theater, Movement and Music for students in Grades 5-8


  • Discoveries & Adventures: Day Camp for Preschool through Grade 5 – Summer 2021 Summer 2021 Themed Weeks: Oh the Places You’ll Go…Staging our in-person comeback as a way to chart a new course of history.  Our Discoveries and Adventures campers explore each week’s theme.  The camp experience includes specialty activities like tennis, golf and archery, fencing, yoga and waterplay.
    • Note: Participants will be enrolled as cohorts with a minimum of two week commitment
      • Cohort 1 (July 6 – July 16)
      • Week 1 – The Art of Exploration (World Trekking)
      • Week 2 – Diving Into the Deep (Ocean Explorations)
      • Cohort 2 (July 19 – July 30)
        • Week 3 – The Spirit of the Olympic Games (Sports)
        • Week 4 – Secret Missions (Coding, Language & Culture)
      • Cohort 3 (August 2 – August 13)
        • Week 5 – Race to Space (Exploring Our Universe)
        • Week 6 – Stories of Empires (Real & Imagined) (Lit & Film)
  • Health & Wellness Activities: Participants in grades preschool through grade 8 across all the programs will have the opportunity to take advantage of all our health and wellness offerings this summer which include archery, fencing, golf, tennis, and yoga.  Older participants in grades 9-12* may elect to take individual lessons in tennis, fencing, and archery.  *Additional fees apply.  Make inquiries directly to for private lessons.

Our surveys will close on March 15 to give our leadership team time to analyze the information.   Actual enrollment for Summer Programs will open with an early bird special rate for families that register by March 30.

Note that due to COVID restrictions, we are limiting Summer Connections enrollments.  In addition to limiting enrollment,  there are a number of safety precautions we will have in place to restrict the transmission of COVID.  Please also note that all staff and participants will be required to provide a COVID negative test prior to the start of the program for which they are registered. The deadline for registration is June 1, 2021  for all programs.  For more information and refund policies, click here.

Curious about our program or Dwight-Englewood’s campus? COVID Prep Checklist: CDC Recommendations for Day Camps

Cater To You (CTY) Food Service on Campus: This year’s fees include the provision of snacks and lunch daily. Note: Food may not be ordered from off campus restaurants or services. To protect participants from the risk of contracting COVID, the campus will be closed to visitors throughout the program day, including food delivery services.

The AfterCare Program is offered to campers in Pre-K through Grade 8 daily from 1:30 to 4:30. Students enjoy a nutritious snack, planned and organized sports and activities, and the use of our library facilities. With a lot of fun activities, the kids will be kept creatively engaged. And to keep our campers safe, we’ve devised some fun themed outdoor activities just for The Explorers Club (*Note: participants divided by age/grade level).
