Broadway_Dreams_Logo_BLACKThe Broadway Dreams Foundation is bringing their premiere performing arts intensive to Dwight-Englewood, this summer. Throughout the weeklong program, students of all ages will work with top Broadway professionals in intimate master class settings. Student will have the opportunity to explore an array of topics within the categories of acting, singing, dance, audition technique, business of theatre, stage management, technical theatre, and costume design. The program will culminate with a professionally directed and produced showcase of student and faculty talent.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation’s award-winning faculty is composed of working Broadway actors, directors, choreographers, producers, casting agents, musicians, and more. Past program attendees have had the opportunity to work with faculty members such as Stafford Arima (director, Allegiance), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Alex Newell (Glee), Ryann Redmond (If/Then, Bring It On!), Spencer Liff (choreographer, Spring Awakening), Nicole Parker (Wicked), Taye Diggs (Rent), Greg Haney (Grease:Live), Matthew and Kirsten Scott (Jersey Boys), and Rachel Hoffman (Telsey & Co Casting). Joining us here this summer at Dwight-Englewood as our Broadway Dreams faculty are Craig D’Amico, Amanda Watkins, Ryann RedmondJeffrey Sheckter, and Quentin Earl Darrington, who will be also with the cast for the newly-opening CATS on Broadway!

1016043_10151643087518503_1162681970_nFeatured Teaching Artist Quentin Earl Darrington is one of the BDF core faculty member this summer. He began his Broadway career in Ragtime as Coalhouse Walker Jr. and is now preparing to star as Old Deuteronomy in the 2016 revival of CATS. Affectionately known as “Q” he has taught at almost every BDF city and is a fan favorite of the students for his approachability and teaching style. Q will be working with CATS on Broadway at night and teaching at D-E 360° Summer Connections during the day.
1655999_10152827570143503_7468184691192301108_nTyler Hanes is another one of the BDF core faculty members this Summer 2016, and a well-known actor and dancer on Broadway. He’s appeared in a handful of Broadway roles, including in Sweet Charity, A Chorus Line, and On The Town. Hanes is now preparing to star as Rum Tum Tugger in the 2016 revival of CATS. Similar to “Q”, Tyler will be working CATS on Broadway in the evenings and spending the day with D -E 360° Summer Connections.

She first connected with the organization as a student in Atlanta in 2006 and has stayed with the organization for the last 10 years as a student, intern, assistant, and now a core teaching artist. Ryann has found huge professional success on Broadway, having originated roles in both Bring It On: The Musical and If/Then.

He’s appeared on Broadway in numerous productions, including How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Cry-Baby, In My Life, and RENT. He’s well known for his recurring roles on TV in Devious Maids, Big Love, and Three Rivers. He’s also found success as a red carpet host for the Tony Awards!

Over their 10 years of programming, BDF has helped students of all ages to live their Broadway dream, from working with a Broadway idol to making a Broadway debut. With the support and guidance of BDF, over 100 alums have booked professional roles on Broadway, in national and international tours, and on film.

Student Bus Transportation

Dwight-Englewood School students come from more than 80 communities in Bergen and Hudson counties in New Jersey, and Rockland County and Manhattan in New York. For summer 2016, there will be centralized pick-ups in Manhattan at a rate $175 per student.

Public Transportation

From New York City: Take the A subway line to 175th Street and transfer to the GWB Bus Station located at 4211 Broadway, between 178th & 179th Streets and Fort Washington Avenue. Take NJ Transit Bus 186 to the Dwight-Engelwood Campus. New Jersey Transit


All Broadway Dreams sessions take place on the beautiful 45+ acre Dwight-Englewood School campus, just minutes from the George Washington Bridge.
