Week 1 has led campers to new friendships as they engaged in fun activities while getting to know each other. We worked together to make roadways and buildings from recycled materials to create a moveable city as we embraced the week’s theme of transportation and structures. The campers had a blast each day recreating the roads and repositioning the buildings to design unique cities as they played with the land, sea, and air vehicles. We listened to the story The Little Red Lighthouse And The Great Gray Bridge by Hildegarde H. Swift and Lynd Ward. This story taught us that lighthouses are structures that are important for boat safety. Campers designed boats and made lighthouses to protect their vehicles. It put a smile on my face to see the children play games with one another throughout the week and hear their laughter as they were genuinely enjoying themselves and each other.
