This week in the Bodies in Motion class, campers did a collection of elementary P.E. games and activities that promoted participation, stressed cooperation over competition, and helped improve their self esteem by giving them a chance for success individually and as a team. We also did some soccer related games that tie into this week’s theme of Asia as soccer is very popular in many Asian countries.
In honor of Australia we learned and played games that involved cooperation and body awareness. In the Adventures group, campers played Sharks and Minnows. Discoveries had fun with Animal Round-up where they moved like their favorite animals. Other games played during the week included bean bag tag!
This week in bodies and motion we played cooperative team games, which focused on throwing and catching skills. On Friday, we will be playing modified baseball type games, as it is the most popular sport in North America to keep up with this week’s theme.
