The tournament will be a short and fun tournament with trophies or medals for all players. It will be a great chance to practice for some of the chess tournaments later in the school year, especially the State Chess Championships coming up on November 23rd. More information about it can be found below.

November 9, 2025: Scholastic GrandmasterMac Grand Prix # 1

Hudson Way Immersion School

If you can’t attend Half-Day Chess, join Coach Mac November 9th at Hudson Way Immersion School in Stirling, NJ. It’s the first tournament in a series of tournaments that he’s calling the Grandmaster Mac Grand Prix. There will be team prizes that would be fun for our students to compete for. The idea behind the Grand Prix style tournament is that all of the team scores will add up over 3 tournaments for big final prizes.

November 23, 2025: NJ State Grade Level Championship

Don’t miss this one of a kind tournament! It’s the biggest NJ scholastic chess event of the year. There will be over 500 kids playing. It is a great experience for any students interested in chess. Dwight-Englewood will be attending the NJ State Scholastic Championships as a team.
